bad costumer service

the app works ok but if you need to do changes better have a lot of time to spend because they will take forever to get back to you. Also because they take so much time now i have to pay add collect that was not needed when i send the initial request.

When booking a ticket there appears to be no advice on reserving seats. So we bought 1st class tickets but then had to scrounge for a place to sit anywhere and hope that we weren’t in someone else’s seat. Not a great way to travel.

Many glitches and issues with the app

The app is extreamly slow. It feels like using an app from 2005 not 2025. More so, payment methods and voucher codes rarely work and you are directed to start the entire checkout process again. Frankly, with all the issues, using the Omio app takes longer than any other ticketing app I have ever used.

Worst service

Arrived at the station an hour before ,platform for the train to Budapest never came on the screen and we missed the train .We were able to rebook with RegioJet for so much economical fee than your company that I will never use again .

Read this BEFORE using OMIO

I suspect the good reviews for OMIO come from people who have booked more direct trips and now used them for actually connecting longer distance travel. This is a third party app that repeatedly books connections that you will not have time to board and makes no effort to acknowledge that humans cannot physical exit a train and get to another if it has already left the station. Even in Europe some border crossings still take a bit more time and you cannot consider an arrival time of a train stopping at a border as something that you just walk off and sprint to another platform in minutes. When I addressed why they booked the ticket this way they basically tell you there are no OMIO trains. They are just a third party app that takes your money, and if you don’t check for the errors in bad connection times before, and you have not paid us enough money to change the ticket, then that’s your bad. Obviously there are no “OMIO” trains. My point is that people are using you as a third party app and paying you to “assist” them in navigating the various travel options to make the travel experience easier and BETTER. Not more of a nightmare. No one downloads an app and uses it to make the travel experience WORSE. Sheesh. I STRONGLY suggest downloading the official apps for the train stations of each country you are in: SNCF for France, DB Navigator for the Deutsche Bahn in Germany, etc. Check all your connection times before booking and separate out and break up any tickets that you need to give yourself more connection times. This way you can settle any concerns or issues directly with the company running the trains so you are more likely to get results and solutions. You don’t have to worry about dealing some unknown business that just set up an app to take your money at the risk of ruining your travel experience over actually providing a beneficial service.

I’m not accustomed to travel by rail, much less navigating the network in another country. Omio simplified that quite a bit and made our various jaunts around Britain much easier.

When entering into the search I wanted to enter into Napoli. The search results gave me Sorrento. I did NOT want Sorrento. Now I have purchased Sorrento tickets that I do not need and cannot change them.

Scam Alert!

I would give zero if I could. I opened Google to search for tickets in Europe from one city to another with the correct date. It showed several train options. After I clicked to pay, it CHANGED the date to a week later. Of course i did not see it and proceeded to payment. When I was on the train, the conductor informed me that I booked the wrong date, although I had specifically requested the correct date originally. So then I contacted Omio to have them cancel (because I had to pay on the train), and I have not yet had any resolution. They said it was my fault that I did not check the date that THEY switched! Try it - if you search for trains using today’s date and then click through, it will send you to the wrong date. The fact that I have notified Omio and I’ve had no resolution is very upsetting. I would recommend NEVER using this 3rd party app.

Horrible app, waste of time

Don’t ever get this app it is a waste of time and it does not book your travel plans accordingly. For example, if you are traveling in Austria, Poland or Czechia it will forget to give you a seat on certain trains and if you do not remember to book that seat you are screwed out of having a seat. Best suggestion, just go book the ticket through the actual train station example in if you’re going to Vienna, Austria look up the train station in Vienna, then look for who is in charge of it. OBB is the train company in charge of that station. Just booked your tickets through their website. The train or travel companies know travel, OMIO is a Ticketmaster like website that has dodgey service and lack of accountability.

Don’t Do It

There’s NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER. Greyhound canceled my bus and when you attempt to get a refund (not a voucher) it’s a joke. Don’t use this! UPDATE in response to OMIO. They will do everything they can to refuse you a refund “voucher only”. Took over 2.5hrs and multiple requests to finally get my money back. Even claimed they couldn’t do it because I paid in cash (I didn’t). Avoid and use another site.

Rejected Credit Card

Did not accept my credit card, AND then took away the option of using a credit card at all!! That is crazy! I wasn’t allowed to try a different card.

Train Cancellation

If your train gets cancelled, Omio will not assist at all with getting you a refund. They will refer you to the trains refund site. It was pretty inconvenient. L

App glitches and you lose money

The app will give you the wrong dates after you finalize the transaction and I would suggest that you NEVER use it because you can’t get in touch with customer support and you are going to have to fight it through your credit card. It seems convenient but it is either glitchy or just a way to screw customers. I had one decent booking but the other ones were a disaster. There are much better options because like simply using google flights because while it might seem like you are going to save a little money it’s going to be a lot more expensive. It’s like using Spirit Airlines where you think you save money but the way they screw you around actually makes things more expensive and you can’t even take comfort that it’s more comfortable.

Easy Enough

So far I have used this for a few weeks now. Seems easy and correct on all information. I like that it has most all travel information to choose from and compare time and prices.

App needs lots of work with payment processing

I have tried at least 20 times to do a transaction to purchase bus tickets through the App and am not getting tickets even though I am notified first that payment is successful, followed by email indicating transaction did not go through. I called my card issuer and the issue is not on their end. Of course finding a number to call a customer service rep is difficult too

Tech issues

Ticket not issued, impossible de retrieve the reservation while visible, impossible to reach the customer service… without speaking of the pricing model (scam like) increasing surprisingly when you try to pay… very bad digital user experience, it’s a pity!

Ridiculous

Every time I look at the date I want find a train it shows me EVERY OTHER DATE INSTEAD OF THE ONE I WANT. I put in the correct time and date and when it loads it shows me either the next day or the day I’m looking at. Please fix.

i was looking in YouTube the best traveling apps because i will go to italy and i need train tickets for 7 people and yeah uts so good it comes with alot of good stuff including cheap trains fast trains i even found one for 59 euros for 7 persons i think and like it was cheao and fast it arrives for 54 minutes

Use other apps or book directly from carrier

This app actually doesn’t show all options as other apps do. I ran into issues when I wanted a later train but it’s not available on the app, so I ended up buying the ticket I wanted from another app and they refused to refund me.

Scam artists - overcharge + zero refunds

Please book directly from the train provider. This app will not only charge you a lot more, but then unlike when you book directly from the train provider, there are no refunds or changes. The worker at Renfe at a train station in Spain explained to us that this company buys tickets directly and sells them, and that the train company itself is MUCH much more accommodating for changes , exchanges, or refunds. She explained that this company scams unsuspecting tourists. So please, learn from my extremely expensive mistake and do not use this company. They are surely making a huge profit but their souls will be punished for eternity, and their piles of unethical money won’t help them then, ha ha ha! 🔥They are pure evil in every way.

No help when issues arise

Absolutely horrible customer service. Hope that nothing goes wrong because if it does, they will not help, and you will loose all of the money you spent through this company. Best case scenario, you will have to pay twice, worst case scenario you will be stranded in a foreign country, and then still have to pay twice. Do yourself a favour and do not use them.

I dislike that it states you will receive your tickets in a separate email, and that did not happen. There is no customer service number. I have a booking ticket reference number, it states check in with the airline? What exactly does this mean? I feel very skeptical about not having a ticket in hand. As an App please be more detailed with the information your providing.

Mid Platform

I miss my train because my connection flight in Amsterdam was delayed. The girl who I called from customer service leaves me on hold for 15 minutes while I am scrambling to change/find a new train to get to my destination after my flight. This woman picks back up starts speaking to one of her coworkers in another language and then just hangs up on me so I have to go to another platform. Then I get my train back to the airport to go home and Omio doesn’t want to tell me the platform my train is on! This app is honestly unbelievable and will take advantage of people’s flights being delayed/canceled and make money of an unfortunate inconvenience you face at the airport.

Sells tickets to cancelled trains… Than I lose money trying to get a refund. App is confusing and doesn’t have any boarding information. How does this app have 4.9/5 stars?

This is a wonderful app when traveling to make reservations, see pricing and book when on the move. Crucial planning tool for our travel needs.

Wouldn’t recommend

Tickets are truly non refundable even if you booked within less than 24 hours and put the wrong date for mistake they don’t reimburse you.

Can’t change train ticket

Can’t change train ticket time which is changeable per purchase details. Found this issue at last minute and caused great hassles. Would be better using Trenitalia app directly to manage the time change and at lower cost

Changes in train status- DOESN’T notify

While the buying process is easy, the app doesn’t give you any notification of changes in train times, train cancellations or anything like that. Was left stranded because of this incompetence at the Geneva Airport. They did not even notify via email or change my ticket. DO NOT USE FOR SWITZERLAND TRAIN TRAVEL. This is a gross oversight by the company and application.
